Our Leadership

Dr Shara Cohen

Founder

Dr Shara Cohen was a biomedical scientist and is an entrepreneur and scientific educator with a background in stem cell transplantation, immunology and cellular therapies.

Dr Shara Cohen

During the emergence of cord blood transplantation as a clinical alternative to adult stem cell transplantation, she led pioneering research investigating the biological mechanisms that made cord blood a unique and effective source of stem cells.

Her work included collaborations with Professor Pablo Rubinstein and Professor Eliane Gluckman, helping establish cord blood transplantation as a viable clinical therapy.

Dr Cohen has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, scientific reviews and educational resources. Although her career subsequently moved into scientific publishing, healthcare communication and organisational leadership, she remains committed to advancing public understanding of regenerative medicine and supporting the translation of scientific knowledge into real-world patient benefit.

Dr. Vasiliki E. Kalodimou

Chief Executive Officer

Professor Vasiliki E. Kalodimou is an internationally recognised expert in regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, cellular therapies and flow cytometry.

Professor Dr. Vasiliki E. Kalodimou

Her scientific career has focused on the study and application of stem and progenitor cells derived from umbilical cord tissue, placenta and adipose tissue, with particular emphasis on their potential in regenerative medicine and advanced cellular therapies.

Through her research, publications, education and scientific leadership, Professor Kalodimou has helped advance understanding of stem cell biology, flow cytometry and regenerative medicine. As Chief Executive Officer, she brings extensive expertise in translational science, cellular therapies, quality standards and international collaboration, helping guide the organisation's mission to promote evidence-based regenerative medicine and informed patient decision-making.
